Originally from Indonesia and now based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Dewi’s journey into wellness began long before sound healing became part of her professional life. Growing up surrounded by ritual, incense, music and the warmth of community gatherings, she was always drawn to the feeling of calm that certain spaces, sounds and human connections could create.
Before founding Merasa Damai, Dewi worked within the world of luxury beauty and hospitality, leading teams and creating client experiences centred around care, detail and emotional connection. Although beautiful in many ways, life eventually began asking for something slower, quieter and more meaningful.
Sound healing became part of that journey.
What began as a personal practice slowly evolved into intimate gatherings, private sessions and seasonal wellness experiences designed to feel grounding, gentle and beautifully held.
Today, Dewi guides immersive sound healing experiences across Newcastle upon Tyne, including collaborations with wellness studios, boutique hotels and community spaces such as Gosforth Civic Theatre and Jesmond Dene House.
Her approach combines sound, breathwork, intentional living and mindful hospitality — creating spaces where people feel welcomed exactly as they are.
At the heart of Merasa Damai is a simple philosophy:
Healing does not always need to be loud.
Sometimes peace arrives quietly.
